"GLORY OF THE COMING OF THE LORD"

“GLORY OF THE COMING OF THE LORD”

Sunday, July 2, 2023

Pastor Carolyn Sissom

On Sunday evening, we have been studying Prophetic Forecast a book written by Prophet Joshua Giles.  The closing chapter is titled, “Glory Awakening.”

(We have now moved Sunday evening to the church location and I will be preaching).

Habakkuk 2:14:  For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

I have shared with this church many times a vision the Lord gave me many years ago of standing on the tallest mountain of the whole earth and seeing the glory of the Lord cover the whole earth with wave after wave of glory.   I felt assured in the vision that this Glory would be in my life time.  Brother Giles prophesies in this book, “we are entering into the days of mega glory.  The glory of the Lord will fill the earth.  Glory is the breath, essence and atmosphere of heaven.  Glory is the substance and release that emanates from the presence of God.”

He rightly describes the spiritual progression of “Revival,” “Reformation,” and “Awakening,” which awakens mankind to the glory of the LORD.

“Revival is for the Church, not for the world.  In order for someone to be revived, he or she must first be alive, then be dead, then be brought back to life.  After revival comes reformation.  Reformation is major change to the structure of an institution.  God is reviving you and me and other believers, and restructuring our lives for the better, so He can then release glory in our lives.

After reformation comes a massive awakening.  An awakening is for the world and for those people who do not have a knowledge of Christ.  It is those people waking up from a place of sleep or spiritual darkness.  The only thing that can awaken people who are in the world is the glory of the Lord, shown through Jesus Christ.”

I considered the Battle Hymn of the Republic was written in a time of reformation and awakening in our nation (1861 – At the onset of the Civil War).  Julie Ward Howe was awakened in the early morning twilight and wrote the glorious song of the Battle Hymn of the Republic.  The words are prophetic of a nation being reborn and the ongoing reformation of a greater glory yet to come.

“Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;

He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored.

He has loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword.

His truth is marching on.

(Chorus)

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

His truth is marching on,

I have seen him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps,

They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;

I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and glaring lamps;

His day is marching on.”

From 1861 – 1865, this terrible war which people thought would last three months last four horrible years.

“Both North and South read the same bible and pray to the same God; and each invokes His aid against the other.  It may seem strange that any men should dare to ask a just God’s assistance in wringing their bread from the sweat of other men’s faces; but let us judge not, that we be not judged.  The prayers of both could not be answered; that of neither has been answered fully.  The Almighty has His own purposes.” (Abraham Lincoln 1865 Second Inaugural Address).

Over three million Americans fought in the civil War and two percent of the population perished.  It saw the end of slavery and ushered in a new political and economic order.

The Third Great Awakening from the late 1850’s to the 20th century was interrupted by the American Civil War.  However, in the south, the Civil War stimulated revivals and strengthened the Baptists, especially after the war.  Dwight L. Moody made revivalism the centerpiece of his activities in Chicago by founding the Moody Bible Institute.

“I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel.

As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal;

Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel.

Since God is marching on.

(Chorus)

Glory, Glory hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

His truth is marching on.”

It is my vision and earthly mission to co-labor with the Lord Jesus Christ as we the Church march on in His truth to do whatever Christ has apportioned as my part and the part of this Eastgate Ministries Church to reveal the glory of the LORD, shown through Jesus Christ.  Heaven named us and our name reveals the glory of the Lord will return through the Eastern Gate of His Temple within the Ecclesia.

“ELEVEN TYPES OF GLORY” (Giles) (paraphrased):

“The Hebrew language is so vast and three-dimensional that the words are expressed in images and pictures.  It is often referred to as the language of creation.” (Giles).

This is true of all metaphorical prophetic language.  In visions, we see pictures which when interpreted reveal Scripture.

“There are at least eleven Hebrew words for Glory… Anytime the LORD places a greater glory upon us, it brings us into a new state of existence, a new reality.  Everyone does not live in the same spiritual reality.  The spiritual reality we live in depends on what realm of glory we live in, or what level of glory we carry” (Giles).

Or what level of glory we are willing to carry as we submit to the Lord’s dealings and leading.

I have exhorted our church multiple times over many years that we must be able to corporately carry the glory of the Lord to birth a conference, new church-plant, have revival meetings, etc. OR any Kingdom work. When the Glory begins to fall, it is “The little foxes that spoil the vines(So. 2:15).

“It is the Father’s desire that we move from one level of glory to the next level of glory.  2 Co. 3:18: We all with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the LORD, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

The glory of the LORD is a transforming agent.  It comes to unlock a deeper dimension of God in us.  The more we experience the glory of the Lord, the more we become like Jesus.  In a desperate point in the life of Moses, he cried out, “I beseech you, show me your glory(Ex. 33:18).   In desperation, the glory of the Lord was what Moses longed to see.”

Exo. 33:19: God said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy… (vs 23) “You shall see my back parts; but my face shall not be seen.”

I am persuaded it was here the Lord showed Moses His past creation glories from which Moses was able to write Genesis.

ELEVEN TYPES OF GLORY:

1.      Kabod -  3519: “the riches, honor and abundance of God.”  “Weight.” God’s abundance is heavy, and we must have the mental, emotional, and spiritual capacity to carry it. (Psa. 87:3).

2.      Hadarah – 1926:The holy adornment of public worship, ornament and clothing.” It is the glory of the Lord that decorates a person as he or she worships God.

3.      Addereth – 155:A mantle.”  “Clock, splendor, a prophet’s garment, and glory.”  The mantle of a prophet is the glory and splendor of the Lord. (1 Ki. 19:19).

4.      Tiph’arah – 8597: “beauty, bravely, fair glory, ornament, majesty, precious jewels.” Deut. 26:19: He will set you high above all nations which He has made, in praise, in name, and in honor, that you may be a holy people to the Lord your God, just as He has spoken.  In this text it is translated as honor denoting the elevation of God’s chosen people.

5.      Halal – 1984: Praise.  “To shine, flash forth light and praise.”  Ps. 18:3: “I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, so shall I be saved from my enemies.”  The name of the LORD brings forth light that is illumination and revelation in the form of glory.

6.      Tohar – 2892: “purification, purity and clearness.”  Exo. 24:10: they saw the God of Israel, and these were under his feet as it were a paved work of sapphire stone, and it was like the very heavens in its clarity.”  Tohar is used to describe the streets in heaven as being of such pure gold that they are translucent.  It is to be so clear that people can see God through you.

7.      Shabach – 7623: “to praise or shout, a loud tone, praise, commend, glory.” It is the glory that comes out of our mouth when we release praises to God.

8.      Shekinah – The tangible, visible manifestation of the glory of the Lord.  Glory that can be seen, felt and interact with in the form of God’s presence.

9.      Hode – 1935:  splendor, majesty, vigor, beauty.  Job 40:10: Adorn yourself with majesty and splendor, and array yourself with glory and beauty.”   This glory release not only the majesty of God, but also supernatural strength and health from God in the form of vigor.

10.  Pa’ar – 6286: Psa. 149:4: For the Lord takes pleasure in his people.  He will beautify the meek with salvation.  “To make beautiful.”  This glory is received through the doorway of salvation.

11.  Tsabiy – This word can be used as pride, but in the positive sense, it is translated as “pleasant or pleasant land.”

THE NEXT GREAT AWAKENING:

Mathew 4:16: The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.

“This verse paints a picture of the next great awakening that is coming into the world.  The eyes of many are about to come open to the saving, transforming and revolutionary power of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In the coming months and years, we will see and hear of the rise of more and more supernatural encounters with God.  Many Muslims, Buddhists, atheists, agnostics, New Agers, and the like are about to have mega encounters with Jesus Christ that will bring them into radical conversions.

It is the Lord’s desire that His glory be seen everywhere.

Acts 2:17: It will come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

Prophecy given to Joshua Giles:

You will see My outpouring come upon Millennials and Gen Z’ ers.  They will be highlighted in the days ahead to be carriers of My glory.  Many of them will prophesy accurately and carry a depth of My Spirit that the world has not yet seen.  Some will ask, “Have the days of Smith Wigglesworth and Aimee McPherson returned?”  No, this is not that day.  This is an even greater day, where I will raise up a people that had no name and place My name upon them.  And they shall carry the fire of My Spirit that will not be quenched.”

“God showed me (Joshua Giles) a new sound will come forth even in the music in this new era.  He told me plainly not to underestimate His ability to use secular artists.  The hearts of the people are in the hands of the Lord, and He changes them as He sees fit… They will release the sound of heaven even under their secular music labels.

You are a glory carrier!  You carry the heart and mind of God.  If we are willing to avail ourself to the Father, He desires so strongly to commune, fellowship, and partner with us in the earth to carry out His agenda.

To carry God’s glory means that we house the presence and demonstrative power of God.

The glory awakening that we will experience in this new era will unlock a dimension of the Spirit that we have not yet seen.  The gifts of the Spirit will intensify.  God wants to use all of us to move in the gifts of the spirit with ease and grace.  His spiritual gifts will provide knowledge, wisdom and insight for navigating the difficult, yet amazing times that are ahead.

You will see the glory of the Lord cover the earth as the waters cover the sea.

You will see even more breakthrough-deliverance, healings, and visible manifestations of God’s presence in the days ahead.  Despite turbulence in the world, God is with us through it all.  His Word is the lamp that guides us.  His spirit is the breath that sustains us.  His wisdom helps us navigate new terrain.  This is truly the greatest time to be alive and to be partnering with the Holy Spirit.

God will use each of us to show forth His magnificent glory to others.  We will be His glory carrier and the hands and feet of Jesus in the earth.

“In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,

With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me.

As He died to make men holy, let us live to make men free,

(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Our God is marching on.

Howe's original manuscript differed slightly from the published version. Most significantly, it included a final verse:

“He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is Wisdom to the mighty, He is Succor to the brave,
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of Time His slave,
Our God is marching on

Scripture from K.J.V. – I entered into the labors of Prophet Joshua Giles, Prophetic Forecast, published by Chosen Books, 11400 Hampshire Avenue south, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55438.  Comments and conclusions are my own and not meant to reflect Prophet Giles views.  Vision given to me on the Glory of God covering the whole earth:  VISION:  I was on the tallest mountain of the whole earth.  A dove was on my should and my hand could touch Heaven. (Heaven is at hand.)  I saw waves of glory cover the hills, then another wave covers the lower mountains, then the higher mountains, then a huge wave covered the highest mountain which I was on and took me to Heaven.   I suppose I could say there were four waves of glory.
